Dogs Rescued

A dog with its nose cut off faced little chance of surviving, but her determined rescuers refused to give up, showcasing unwavering commitment to her recovery.

Namtan the dog had been badly abused before she was found by hunters. She was hopeless and didn’t think she would live. She was starving because she couldn’t eat because her nose was badly hurt. The good news is that she was found by a group that regularly saves elephants.

The Save Elephant Foundation in Thailand is known for helping elephants, but they also care about other animals, like Namtan. When they found her, they knew they had to save her. They found her on the street with her nose hanging off of her face. It had been cut off, most likely with a knife or a blade.

She had a hard time eating, and it was so hard for her to get food that she started eating her own poop.

Namtan’s protectors had a hard time finding a vet who was willing to do the surgery she needed to save her life. A lot of vets told them that the surgery would be hard because it had been so long since her accident. They finally found a vet who was willing to try to save her life.

Namtan lived because of how hard the doctors worked! When I saw her after surgery, I couldn’t believe it. Namtan was ready to go, and her injury has healed well after surgery. She now lives at The Elephant Park Sanctuary, where her rescuers take great care of her.
